Care Instructions

Thank you so much for creating your beautiful and unique jewellery with Sip & Pearl.

Your jewellery has been made using high-quality materials, including AAA cultured freshwater pearls, semi-precious gemstones, Miyuki Japanese glass seed beads and premium, tarnish resistant gold or silver plated findings. Please follow these simple, everyday care instructions to help your jewellery last for many years to come.

General Care

  • The best general rule for all jewellery is that it should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.
  • Avoid contact with water, perfumes, lotions, sunscreen and cleaning products.
  • Remove your jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising or sleeping.
  • Apply perfumes and beauty products before putting on your jewellery.
  • Store your jewellery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity.
  • Individual jewellery pieces should be stored separately to avoid scratching or tangling.

Plated Metals (Gold & Silver)

The gold or silver materials used are a jeweller's quality brass or copper base, making them nickel and lead free and suitable for sensitive skin.

Each piece is then plated with genuine 14k gold or 925 sterling silver. Finally, a specialised tarnish resistant coating is applied to create a protective barrier that helps preserve the plating and maintain its shine for longer.

  • Avoid exposure to chlorine, salt water, sunscreen, perfume and other harsh chemicals as these can gradually break down the protective coating and plating.
  • If cleaning is required, gently wash in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a soft cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners or chemicals.
  • Avoid abrasive materials or harsh cleaning agents, as these can wear down the plating over time.
  • With proper care, the tarnish resistant materials will maintain their shine and beauty for longer.

Cultured Freshwater Pearls

Each pearl is unique and naturally delicate.

  • Gently wipe pearls with a soft cloth after wearing to maintain their natural lustre.
  • Store separately in a soft pouch like the one provided to prevent scratching.

Semi-precious Gemstones & Glass Seed Beads

  • Handle with care to avoid damaging impact from dropping.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to water and chemicals to preserve their colour and finish.
